I know what you’re thinking, what in an iPod isn’t already wireless? Well its the headphones for those of you who were wondering. It appears that PortalPlayer, a semi-conductor manufacturer has plans to acquire a small company with a wireless technology portfolio and is quoted to say “[we are] dedicating 2006 to building out wireless capabilities”.
Steve Jobs has often been badgered on the subject of wireless headphones, he claims that bluetooth headphones would limit sound quality and cause battery issues as well as saying the following quote;
“We are very careful about what features we add because we can’t take them away”
One word springs to mind, FireWire…
