Apple Store Ships Upgraded mini

Multiple readers are reporting to World of Apple about a story which has been making the rounds earlier today.

The story is about one European customer who recently purchased a single-core Mac mini within the past week, he was apparently shipped a dual-core system without being notified.

The system he ordered looked as follows:

  • 1.5GHz Core Solo
  • 60GB hard drive
  • Combo drive

But the system received looked as follows:

  • 1.66 Core Duo (not Core 2)
  • 100GB HD
  • Superdrive

No sources have been able to confirm whether this was a mistake on Apple’s behalf or whether a future update has slipped through the net.
